Simplicity of design, construction and operation...
CDF Coolant Management System.
At the outset, we established the
following performance targets for the new CDF system:
Simplified operation
Long-life filtration media
Ease of Maintenance
System solution with wide application versatility
Two stage filtration efficiency with optional third
stage
Economical investment
Flow rate capacities to 300 gpm plus
The Hennig CDF system is made up of:
Hinged conveyor belt that transports chips and acts
as the first stage filter.
Disc filters with permanent media provide 2nd stage
filtration.
Optional Chip Catch II...for removal of any fines
clinging to the conveyor belt.
Coolant tank
Low and high pressure pumps
Float switches, oil skimmers, controls...
Operational highlights
Disc filtration - Innovative, patent
pending disc filtration design provides for a direct coolant
flow path into the coolant tank reservoir. Will filter a wide
variety of materials, both in water-based and oil coolants.
Continuous self-cleaning operation
Efficient coolant backwash - No outside
source such as stream or air is used.
Hinged belt conveyor - The first stage
of filtration system which catches and removes fine, broken
or bushy chips.
Performance Features
The rotating disc, with permanent media, provides the
second stage of filtration.
The long-life stainless steel screen is rated at 40
microns, consistent with industry standards. Other filtration
levels are available.
The strength of the filtration media allows it to handle
both momentary or continuous heavy chip loads which can be a
problem with nylon mesh, drum type filters.
Ease of maintenance - minimizes downtime
Media Replacement
Easy access - Typically, 20 minutes is all that is needed
to remove the access panel and disc, then install the new disc
and secure the access panel.
Replaced media can be disposed along with chips and does not
become a hazardous waste.
Disc design and construction keeps replacement media costs
very reasonable.
The disc seal was designed for quick (10 min.) replacement
when required.
Backwash nozzles continuously spray filtered coolant against
the stainless steel media removing fines and chips.
As shown in the drawing above, the back wash nozzles are designed
to be readily accessible for cleaning or replacement.
Affordable system
Pictures are sometimes worth a thousand words.
As you can see our simplified system design not only enhances
performance, it costs less to produce than many of the more
complex competitive systems. That's another Hennig advantage
... savings in your pocket.
For more information...
With the following information, we can provide a proposal
that will meet your specific requirements:
Machine type and model
Total coolant flow-including flushing
Coolant pressure required
Material being machined
Chip volume
Filtration performance needed (in microns)
All chip / coolant filtration systems require periodic maintenance...
some more than others. "Maintenance-free" as some
manufacturers describe their systems, sounds too much to us
like the offer "free lunch."
When you take a close look at our design and it's operation,
we think you will agree that it represents the most straight
forward solution for coolant filtration to reach the market.
